The visionary Co-Founder, President and CEO of ORFAPROTEIN Corporation, Dr Ekwe has leveraged over 16 years of applied R&D expertise in the Bio- and Food-tech space (including meat processing), a decade of project management and his innate entrepreneurial acumen to nurture and transform an ideological concept into a formidable, tech-driven enterprise. His forward-thinking nature, commitment to GreenTech, passion to advance intercultural gourmet foods and strong drive to play an impactful role in strengthening food security have concertedly enabled Dr Ekwe to build ORFAPROTEIN Corporation into a pioneering force in the edible hide sector. Under his stewardship, the company has successfully achieved, in a timely manner and within budget, key strategic milestones and objectives from ideation, techno-economic feasibility, market research, functional and demonstration prototyping, IP protection and process validation. He is now delivering on the mandate to construct and commission the company’s groundbreaking edible hide processing facility in Alberta, the first of its kind in the world. A PMP candidate and a certified Project Management for Development professional (PMD Pro), Dr Ekwe holds a BSc in Biochemistry, MSc in Environmental Technology, a double MSc in Biotechnology & Food Technology and a PhD in Biotechnology.
